#FridayFive: 5 Vapiano Restaurants in unexpected locations
There are now Vapiano restaurants across the globe. We’ve compiled five in some unusual locations. Why not pop in if you find yourself in Taiwan, Chicago or Estonia?
1. Vapiano Downtown in Chicago
A downtown location with flair! Only two blocks and a park separate Vapiano’s Chicago restaurant from the shores of Lake Michigan, one of the five Great Lakes. The Millennium Park was created at the edge of Chicago’s Loop – the name given to the city’s downtown area by its residents – and is split by Monroe Street. Chicago’s Vapiano is an oasis of calm in this bustling North American city. One visitor wrote “As an Italian, it felt like coming home”.
2. Vapiano Solaris in Tallin
Here’s one to remember with a more traditional atmosphere. Where can you find the best Caesar Salad in Tallinn? In Vapiano’s Solaris restaurant! It’s located a stone’s throw from the city’s beautiful Old Town. Estonia’s capital fuses medieval and modern with tiny cobbled streets and lovingly restored facades of former trading companies flanked by contemporary hi-tech buildings. It’s a lively city with a distinctly Scandinavian vibe. Check out must-see sights like Toompea Castle, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral or the pink baroque Kadriorg Palace.
3. Vapiano Taipei City in Taiwan
Located on the 10th floor of the ATT4Fun skyscraper, Taiwan’s Vapiano offers breathtaking views of Taipei 101 – one of the world’s tallest buildings. Enjoy pasta and pizza dishes indoors but head out to the balcony with a drink or a Dolci to take in panoramic views of an Asian city home to three million people. Don’t forget the camera!
4. Vapiano Santiago de Chile
Fresh Italian food in the depths of South America. “Now you can even enjoy Vapiano at the end of the world” one guest wrote after dining at our restaurant in Santiago de Chile. What are the locals’ favourite dishes at the height of the hot Chilean summer? Fresh bruschetta and our delicious beef carpaccio. Know how the Chilean coffee culture works? You buy a ticket at one of the many café con piernas and wait at the bar for a stylish member of staff to take it off you and replace it with a hot cup of coffee. If you prefer to stick to your favourite café latte or cappuccino, head to Vapiano’s own in-house bar.
5. Vapiano Champs Elysées in Paris
Oh là là! Vapiano’s Paris-based restaurant is located just off the world’s most fashionable boulevard, the legendary Champs Elysées. Flagship designer stores and sightseeing highlights compete for the attention of visitors strolling from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. Take a break from the hustle and bustle by popping into Vapiano to relax and refuel. Vapiano Paris Champs Elysées is France’s largest restaurant and occupies three floors. French guests love our Pasta Gamberetti e Spinaci so give it a whirl if you’re in town!
