Take some time out at the office with our relaxation tips

Calls, emails and long to-do lists, it’s no wonder we feel stressed out in the office sometimes. With these 6 relaxation tips you’ll be able to get through your day with less stress, even if the phone won’t stop ringing.

It can be really turbulent at work sometimes, right? The phone seems to ring non-stop, you have no time to plan for any of your meetings, and the to-do lists seem to go on forever. Of course, that can mean we feel very stressed out, which is the last thing you need. But, we’ve got some useful relaxation tips for you that will work wonders for your working day, we promise!

The early bird…

First things first, set your alarm clock to wake you up a bit earlier than usual. Not having enough time in the morning can make you late and stressed out before the work day even begins. Giving yourself more time in the morning means that you can start the day in a much more relaxed way, especially if you can take time to enjoy some breakfast and a coffee in the comfort of your own home.

Swap that chocolate for a banana

Speaking of food, so many of us crave chocolate as a snack, but you should have a banana instead. Bananas provide you with plenty of energy and are easier to digest. For lunch, we also have another tip up our sleeves, why not try a homemade layered salad from Franzi’s blog.

Take your breaks

Another important relaxation tip is to use your breaks effectively. This not only includes eating, but also taking the time to clear your head. Try fitting in a jog at lunchtime, not only will you feel fitter you will save some precious evening time to relax instead of going to the gym. By the way, for those of you who would like to use your lunchbreaks to get fit, Svenja and Marleen from Greenbodycamp have some great tips for you here.

As well as taking a long lunch break, you should also allow yourself to take some smaller breaks throughout the day. Take some time out to drink a coffee in front of your office building and get some fresh air. Instead of asking your colleagues questions via e-mail, why not pay them a visit?

The next relaxation tip is really easy. If you need a little break without going outside, simply close your eyes for a moment or look out of the window and let your mind wander. Inhale slowly through the nose and feel your chest rise and fall and the air flow into your lungs.

Set priorities

Your to-do-list is already overflowing and new tasks keep coming in. It's not always easy to keep your cool, but our next relaxation tip could help with that, make sure you take time to prioritize your tasks in peace. Write out a new list and think about which tasks need to be done first and which can wait.

Free time is free time

One of the most important relaxation tips is to treat your free time as free time. So, if you keep checking your emails at the weekend or after work, you should definitely stop doing that and instead focus on you in your free time! Meet your best friend for a coffee, take another bath or binge a whole season of your favorite series.

We hope that our relaxation tips will help you to manage stress more easily in the future.
